When We Saw Stars

We saw the same stars,

Drew the same picture,

Dreamt the same escape.

Then you stopped,

Your mind slowing.

Bogged down by clichés.

Unseeing. Limited.

So you annoy me.

My thoughts race, begging to be matched.

But you shuffle on, uncaring.

I turn red.

Boredom consumes me.

As it should you.

Yet you have stopped to rest,

Unaware that you’ve lain down.
